Steve Purvin, CSCS, is a Strength, Conditioning and Fitness expert for Pro Sports Performance & Fitness. Steve has more than 10 years of experience in the sports performance and personal training field both as a client and a coach. A driven athlete himself, Steve attended Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota on a football scholarship and earned his degree in Kinesiology- Exercise Science while completing his coursework to become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist(CSCS). During his time in school, Steve developed a passion for fitness especially working with athletes.
Following the end of his athletic career, Steve began his career as a coach working with the running backs at his alma mater as a GA. In addition, Steve assumed responsibilities of the school’s off-season Strength & Conditioning program. In an effort to increase his knowledge base and advance his career, Steve pursued several opportunities in the Fitness industry working with several nationally recognized fitness companies. In roles that consisted of personal training up to Director level and System Development positions, Steve has learned the business strategies of the industry both good and bad. It was through this trial and error, and many high-pressure sales positions within these companies, he realized his true passion; Sports.
Pro Sports Performance & Fitness has given Steve the opportunity to create his ideal environment. A facility that is designed with the best interest of the Athlete in mind and the means to provide each client with the programming, coaching and mentorship required to not only develop a quality athlete, but also a quality person.
Steve’s experience designing sport-specific strength and conditioning programs has led him to work with athletes of every major sport and competitive level from youth/teen individual development, to team and league programs, up to athletes in the NCAA, NHL, NFL and MLB. It is his knowledge, coaching ability and ever changing and evolving philosophies that makes Pro Sports Performance a destination to “Train Where the Elite Train”
